Cross Culture Business Seminar

The methods that worked for you in your home culture may not work for you here.  You might be an excellent communicator and leader there - but the rules have changed.  The good news is, you can absolutely learn the new rules - and you can also help your counterparts see where you are coming from.  When you understand what motivates your colleagues' work behavior (and your own!), you are once again in a position both to enjoy your new colleagues, and to get things done.  If you are willing to challenge your own assumptions about the way business gets done, and to learn as much about yourself as you do about your cross-cultural colleagues, then join us for an in-depth look at the way your everyday work practices are affected by cultural norms about

  • How decisions are made

  • What good leadership looks like

  • How time is managed

  • How to give effective feedback

  • Group dynamics

  • What makes a good communicator

  • Persuasion techniques

  • What it takes to build trust

We are all formed by the culture we grew up in; we live it out in the way we write emails, motivate our team members, and question the boss.  This happens invisibly; but it is possible to bring those differences out into the light, and begin to explain to our counterparts why we act as we do -- and maybe even begin to understand their crazy behavior, too.
