An accent is simply a way of pronouncing words. A dialect, on the other hand, refers to differences in accent, grammar and vocabulary among different versions of a language.
No matter if you are trying to to brush up your language skills – usually acquired at school some time ago – for personal or business reasons or if you are taking up a new language, e.g. in preparation for a stint abroad – language learning is a process and those who embark on this journey are in it for the long haul.
